This session will provide an overview about single-case research designs (SCRDs) with a focus on design and implementation within counselor education and supervision settings. Program materials also identify and explore strategies for appraising SCRD evidence within the published literature.

Stephen Lenz, PhD, LPC-S

Stephen Lenz is a Professor of Counselor Education at Texas A&M University-San Antonio. He is a licensed professional counselor and board approved supervisor who holds degrees in counselor education, clinical psychology, and community health promotion. Dr. Lenz is interested in the development and evaluation of approaches to training and intervention at the individual and community levels that support well-being across the lifespan. His work is grounded in empowerment-based approaches to program development and evaluation that emphasize interest holder inclusion, capacity building, and relational pathways to sustainable change. He is the author of numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, as well as, the instructional text, Applied Research and Program Evaluation for Helping Professionals (Routledge). Dr. Lenz joins us today to discuss the value of single-case research designs in counselor education and supervision.

Daniel Decino, Ph.D. LPC, NBCC

Daniel received his Counselor Education and Supervision Ph.D from the University of Northern Colorado. Daniel joined the USD Division of Counseling Psychology Related Programs Faculty in the Fall of 2016. He enjoys being outdoors.
